Get a Life
Have you ever asked yourself the question, "Why am I here? Do I have any purpose?" Every one of us, at one time or another, come to a place in life where we ask some deep questions about our existence. But are there any answers to that profound question? Call me an optimistic realist, I believe there are. I don't claim to have all the answers about that question, but I have discovered some answers during life's difficult times. I guess you could say I discovered them by default. If you really think about it, life makes no sense without the answer to that question. So is there a purpose for our existence and does my life really count? For those of you who are not sure, allow me to offer some thoughts. Do our lives carry any significance? Well, that question is better answered by the people around us. Every day your life impacts those you work with, go to school with and live with. Your life matters to the people who are connected to you. Where can I find a sense of meaning to my life? Allow me to illustrate this for a moment. Let's say a father buys his son a new bike. The bike of course comes unassembled. So, being a man he throws the instruction manual aside and goes to it. When he is finished, he realizes that there are extra parts. The bike is not completely assembled. So now what does he do? The lesson is this, "Maybe the bike manufacturer knows a little more about the bike than the well meaning dad does?" How does that apply? Maybe the way we find meaning in life is to go back to the manufacturer and ask for some help in the assembly process of our lives. The cool thing is, there's a manual for it too. So the next time that looming question arises in your mind, pull the manual out and ask the manufacturer to aid you in the process.

Yep! Real men read the directions.
: )
And they follow them too!
Real men aren't afraid to ask the woman for help.
I never noticed, or didn't pay attention, that even the smallest gesture sometimes means the most to someone. Attending High Pointe has taught me to "walk around with my eyes open." I'm more aware of the people around me and what they might need.
That's great! It's true that every gesture means something to someone.
People can be easily offended, too. I used to be that way until I realized that most people often don't have a clue that they're offending.
We come from so many different backgrounds with varying expressions and habits. It's good to be aware of other people's feelings, but it's also necessary for those ultra-sensitive (those whose feelings are hurt easily) to grow tougher skin. To have to worry about walking on eggshells constantly can stifle what God wants to do.
I should make a point to look around more and see who is not in service and give them a call to see how they're doing. You're more observant than I am. I often have my eyes closed during services, and not because I'm sleeping! *g*
You could not fall asleep in any of Pastor Tonys' services. I have never come across sermons so full of energy and electricity. I would like it if the Worship Band started at 9:30 or 9:45 and give Pastor Tony an extra 15-30 minutes to talk. He has alot to say and it's too bad that he has to rush through it at the end. The actual service could start at 10:00. But if you want to enjoy the music earlier, you have that opportunity.
Oh, I know, I love his sermons!
But,I don't know if we could start the music earlier. It's worth thinking about, I guess.
